For improved cultivation of Ashwagandha, loamy, sandy or light red soil with good drainage is considered suitable. Whose pH is 7.5 to 8, then it proves to be very effective for Ashwagandha crops. Ashwagandha crop does not require much weed control. For weed control by natural method, weeding of plants is done. The first hoeing of its field is done after 20 to 25 days. So for that you have to spray Glyphosate 1.5 KG, Triflurelin 2 KG, Isoproturan 0.5 in the field before sowing the seeds.

Ashwagandha plants take 160 to 170 days to mature. When the leaves on its plants start turning yellow and falling, its roots are excavated during that time. Before digging the roots, apply water to the field. This will make it easier for the roots to come out. After this, uproot the Ashwagandha plants from the root. After uprooting the plants along with the root, cut them into small pieces and dry them properly in the sun and separate the seeds and leaves from the fruit. About 6 to 8 quintals of dry roots of Ashwagandha are produced from one hectare of land. And 50 KG seeds are obtained.
